That, I believe, is considered an "unlawful method of take", and could possibly be a citeable offense for the hunter.

Watched it all the way in. No time/space to try to avoid it without rolling the truck. Mostly I was preparing for it to come through the windshield and figuring out how not to wreck our Wildland Truck.

I think I had about a second & a half from ID to impact...

Was the turkey drinking Wild Turkey? Maybe it needed glasses, but it now has contacts.

Putting that feather there was a good coverup ER idea  Some of the wild berries here ferment and the grouse get a little goofy at times too. How long from the time you saw till it hit your windshield? Did seem like it was slow motion while watching it?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I was rolling Lights & Siren at about 70mph (governor kicks in @ 75).

I watched it all the way from where it flushed to impact. about 1.5 seconds. Sort of SlowMo I guess. I had plenty of time to do everything but dodge.

Can be fun, big bird attacking a car. Back around 1970 just north Elgin, Illinois there was a truck carrying live turkeys. This was the big stock truck, 18 wheels and all. The truck went off the road, flipped broke the sides open. Around two hundred, IIRC, turkeys got out. Were all over the road, running around, fairly heavy traffic as well. Most of them made into a wooded park area, alongside of the road. Never did round them up, but the wooded park was about 15 acres and part of a Boy Scout area. I understand it eventually led to some good turkey hunting a couple years later on adjacent properties. At that time they didn't have turkey hunting in that part of Illinois, don't know what the status is today. I understand a lot of the local politicians were worried they may have had some relatives in the bunch. Just Saying. ATB
