Great article in September Fur-Fish-Game...

Post by bigbore442001 »

FFG is one of the few magazines that I really like. They have stories and articles on things that I can actually do. Don't get me wrong. I would love to be in the high mountains of Kyrgystan going after Marco Polo sheep with my Encore pistol but it ain't gonna happen.

This article was written about an average hunter who shot and killed a large wolf in Idaho. What I liked was that he used a Winchester M92 with a Scout scope mounted on the gun. It was refreshing to read about something that most of us here could do and it was done with a lever action rifle vs. a "bean field" rifle.

Agreed - Although it's one I don't subscribe to, I DO buy it fairly often off a magazine rack, along with The Backwoodsman.

LOTS of little (and big) tips in both, for the modern outdoors type.

The July 2012 Issue has a picture of two of my grandsons with a large beaver they caught near St. Maries Idaho.. Keaton and Collin were pretty excited to show grandpa that they were famous.....page 57... Les
This is plagiarized from someone else, but I love it!

I was born a gun owner.
It wasn't a choice.
I didn't become one later in life.
I was born this way.

I'll buy it off the news stand sometimes when I happen to spot it and there seems to be something interesting in it but very seldom is there a relevant article for someone living in Fla.
I will have to try and run down the July issue though.
