Texas Ranger Joaquain Jackson on "American Guns".
He sold his Texas Ranger collection for $500,000.00 on "American Guns" last week. Anyone see it? I wish they would have shown the entire collection better so I would have known what was included in the sell. What's your opinion on the price? I have handled the "Lone Wolf" carbine before but not the inlaid revolver. RR7

That "American Guns" must be a rich sucker. I've never really heard of a wealthy gun shop.

There's a lot of lying and BS show business happening on that show. It's useless.

Another case of the "drama" involved in "reality TV" is the series called: American Colony--the Hutterites.
While I have no personal ax to grind regarding Hutterites, I will say that the show does NOT depict these folks as I know them. I go onto colony land regularly to hunt in MT and have not experienced the sort of behavior shown on the TV episodes. The Hutterites have also claimed that the show producers paid them to set up "false" scenarios for the purposes of making the shows more entertaining. Most of Hutterite life would probably be "dull" by typical American standards as the majority of their time is spent running huge agricultural operations. They also spend a lot of time in religious activities and I do know that there is occasional turmoil within the group. My point is that TV "has to be full of drama" for audience entertainment. Personal friends here in MT don't all appreciate having Hutterites as neighbors as they claim the colonies are "too successful". On the other hand, some farmers have told me examples where a non-Hutterite farmer has become ill or had equipment failure right during harvest and the local Hutterite groups have "pulled their ashes from the fire" by contributing both equipment and manpower just because they were good neighbors.
I guess I'm just saying that not everything seen on "reality" TV is true. Suprising, eh??
Re: Texas Ranger Joaquain Jackson on "American Guns".
Good neighbors are just that, always. As to Ranger Jackson, I am aware that a couple of my acquaintances call him friend. I think he is mistaken on some things and will leave it at that. I am glad that he was able to parlay a lifetime of memories into $500,000 (although it doesn't seem worth only that to me, I would think "priceless"). As to the show, it is hogwash.
Sincerely,

I agree with most everyone else. I have my doubts about the purchase actually taking place. Maybe someone should call Rich and ask him to price one or two of the guns and email pics. Having been involved with one of these proograms recently I know for a fact that what they film is not always what really happened.

If Jackson was part of a make believe sell of those guns then in my eyes his reputation goes down a little farther. Not that he cares about what I think, but I wouldn't want to be a part of something like that. Selling "Lone Wolf's" guns to a Colorado dealer was bad enough for me, priceless is right. I have nothing against Colorado but they should stay in Texas and be displayed at a museum. I plan on donating my best Texas Ranger items soon myself. I understand reality programs but that is going to far. Just my two cents. RR7
