My big hoarding purchases

Post by 3leggedturtle »

Went into a tiny LGS in Iowa and found a 4lbs of Lil' gun for $70. Stopped in Fleet Farm and got 2 boxes of Federal 525 rounds, copper plated 38 grain HP's for $14 each, cuz the one box was opened and the top on the other was smashed down. They are normally $19. No rounds are missing out of the opened one.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I've played around with 2400 with the "hotter mid-range loads" for .45 Colt.

Still liking HS-6 better for that purpose, though a friend has an extraordinarily accurate load with Keith bullets and 2400 in his .44 Mag.

What are you loading with 2400 ? - DixieBoy

I use 2400, for any "rimmed", pistol cartridge.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Well Mr. Turtleman....thats a good start but you are going to need lots more with the impending revolution. :D I picked up an additional 10K of large rifle primers last week to add to the 40K I already have. Still feel naked.------Sixgun

Almost everything I load for.

.357
9.3x72R
.45-70
.410

I even have a .308 load that works reasonably well.

About the only things I load for that I DON'T use it in is 16ga and .45ACP

I find it works in many of my loadings. From Heavy .44 Mag. loads to light target loads in the .38-55 or .45-70 to the .38 special.
Very accurate using cast bullets in the .30-30 .

Did you sit down and count them in the store? Dump them out on the counter?
