new to me '94 takes a deer.

Post by hightime »

About five years ago I made the switch to leverguns and open sights. All's been good. The Model '99 300 sav. took a deer, the 1895 Marlin 45-70 took three and now this year a '94 AE Legacy 30-30 got me a nice doe on the last day of season. I didn't see any bucks only a doe at about a hundred yards in low light. MY EYES! It sure was hard to pick out that tall blade sight. Thank goodness I had scraped the black off the rear of it about an hour before dusk.

I posted after the first weekend that my son had shot a beautiful eight point with about a 19 to 20'' spread, with 1894 Marlin 45 c. He also shot a doe last Sat. with a '94 30-30. Good boy!

I'll have to get a pic. of it. Not as pretty as the '73 but if my eyes keep going the way they are, I could put a carry handle on top.
