Two Does with the old lever gun yesterday

Post by Mossyoak1957 »

Got two does yesterday with the old 336 in 35 rem.
The two does were running together the first one I shot was well over 100 yards shot her broadside and she went right down the second one turned and ran right to me and got her at 20 yards with a dead center chest shot.
Gun: Marlin 336 RC made in the 70's
Ammo:35 Rem Core-Lokt 200 gr.
Scope: Leupold FX 2 4x33
The 35 Remington is a hammer!

Wow! Between the Marlin 35 and Photoshop, you've got the larder well-filled. Congrats!

And I also have a virtually identical setup -- my rifle was made mid-80's so has the funny safety thing and the Tasco 2X8, but real similar. I have yet to shoot anything with mine, though. It has gone hunting several times but not got any shooting yet.

must be at least 10 deer with that gun,for a year or two I had a Marlin 45-70 and shot a few deer with it but it just didn't drop the deer like the 35.
Now don't all you 45-70 guys get in an uproar I love 45-70 just can shoot the 35. better

Good eating, a classic cartridge, and an excellent cabin!
