God wasn't in Church Sunday Morning...

Post by Old Ironsights »

So I get a call from the Wife who has gone to Church about an hour before I had planned to (she had Sunday School Prep to do).

"I'm in the ditch. :!: Could you come pull me out? Oh, and the bumper is off..." :?

Ok...

Here's what I see...

No airbag depolyment. But she was wearing her seatbelt, so no injuries. :o

Especially given that the 180 degree spin on the car after impact did this to the INTERIOR...

Image

Like how the Fire Extinguisher tried to punch through the plastic?

Anyway... God was a bit too busy to be in Church... and it's time to buy a new (as in 10+ y/o) car...

Well, technically, the bump WAS off. She just glossed over the rest of it apparently.

Glad your wife is OK. I'd say God was right exactly there! Or an angel anyhow.

It's only a car. Sorry for the loss tho, I know it's annoying.

Pretty talented that she did all that going backwards, no less...

She needs a nice long hot bath and massage and stretch tonight BEFORE she goes to sleep.
A muscle relaxant wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Glad she didn't wind up as bad as the car did.

I'm glad she is ok. Where I live in Quebec it is mandatory that everyone must have 4 winter tires on their vehicle. 4 season tires are only 4 seasons in areas such as Florida. Once the air temp falls below freezing the rubber in tires become hard and don't stick to the road like tires designed for cold weather.
If you have the potential for cold weather and snow and slush , I strongly suggest winter tires on all 4 corners of your vehicle it sure makes a difference. Just remember that 4 wheel drive means just that drive, let up on the gas under icey conditions and you can lock up all four corners and say goodbye to control.

Glad that she is ok. My wife is an outstanding driver but I still worry about her driving alone in winter

That they can... (once money is scrounged anyway).

Funny bit:

I rolled up on scene and my first comment was... "well, that's totaled". Not much else to say since I knew she was all right and staying warm in the Deputy's rig.

And since I was the defacto/only Licensed EMS/Fire/Extrication Johnny on the spot, I "got" to do the EMS investigation/report on my wife's wreck too.

Well in that case, I hope you do a thorough physical examination once in the appropriate setting. Do it again every few days just to make sure she's improving.

Oh... it was quite thorough...

She would have been an "Evaluate & Release with comments" anyway. No signs of trauma either in the vehicle or on her noggin, and no airbag deployment to snap her neck back.

Heck, her water bottle never left the cupholder in the console.

I am glad she is ok also!! It looked pretty bad!! Maybe it was a blessing she didn't see where she was going off the road, I would have had the big one seeing that huge ditch coming up.
