Got a Remington model 25 32 WCF

Post by Tycer »

Picked it up yesterday from the FFL. Man what a sweet little gun. I have not had time to take good pics but I'll link to the one in the auction until I get some taken.
The pics in the auction showed a fair amount of light rust and scratches that are NOT visible to the naked eye. The seller failed to mention the serial number which is in the 2100 range and the date code puts it's birthday Jan. 1923. The seller also failed to mention that the scope is an early Weaver 330 with click adjustments and clear optics. Yance informed me the 1903A4 collectors love that scope. I think I'll let them have it and buy a similar but less desirable scope and use the proceeds to have a trigger job done on my 358 BLR takedown. I'll probably never re-mount the scope on it anyway as the Lyman #1 seems to be in perfect condition. The home made case looks to be lined with deer skin. Hmmm.?

I'll get more pictures up soon and a range report.

Boy am I tickled. Thanks Yance for pointing this one out for me!!

Very nice

I think you should rethink that scope.
Those 330's are much better than $ in the bank.
Ya done real good

What a neat find. Are they as smooth as the Model14or 141"s? Couldn't ask for a more useful cartridge too.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

250 Savage... its what the 223 wishes it could be...!

Classic little rifle. That is a real beaut.

Great gun grab, Ty - if you put that Weaver 330 on GunBroker, It'll most likely repay a good portion of what you laid out for the rifle.

I've sold a few early Weavers there, which sold for almost $300 (each).

Man that is a nice looking rifle and the classic carry handle is pretty doggone neat too. I'm with ya though, if that scope is pulling hot $$ on the market, sell it - the tang sight looks outstanding.

Well done!
Cheers,
Oly

The Remington 25's are the best woods loafing rifle ever made. (as long as your hunting small game or "just loafing"). The size of a Winchester Model 61 but in centerfire calibers.

I've got 'em in both calibers and one I have , in 25-20 will outshoot any other 25-20 I have ever had that was made by Winchester, Marlin, or Savage, bolt guns included.----------------6
