Forged Tongs and machined clamp for knife. Pic

Worked out the tong issue with little trouble. First time so there was some R&D, but worked through it. Finished off the notches with a file.
We have all sorts of scrap metal around, plenty of metal to make our own tools with.
Enjoy!!

You may want to make a couple more tong sets. Curved jaws work best for holding round stock and for smaller flat pieces. I have 3, flat jaws, round jaws and a pair that that one side flat, the other round. The last I made myself for working ½-round stock for horseshoes.

For a quick set to get by with, I take an old Vise Grip pliers and replace the adjusting screw with a
piece of all thread rod or just a bolt with a longer piece of pipe welded on to lengthen the handle.
Kinda red neck but it does work.
Have fun!! :D
