Very impressive. A woodcock is no easy mark with the most modern equipment. You are a shooter sir!

Yep....quite pleased but!
The photo was taken in about 20hours of ownership and was having poor ignition problems.
Since then I have lightened the frizzen spring and now seem to be getting better ignition and flint life!
Time will tell!

Pretty neat !

How much didja havta lead it, considering the rocklock's lock/ignition time ? (more than a cartridge shotgun ?)

Or, was it a straight-away shot ?

Good question! The bird was moving to the left slowly and on firing I did think I had over done it! However due to the lock time it worked out good yes!
I would guess (looking back) 2' to the left as the bird flew away!

In the photo the bird was flying away over Tia's back away from the camera but also moving left and pretty low over the maize stubble!

Nath, that's living. Those birds are tough anyway, much less with that classic flintlock of yours. Have any info on the gun for us (please)?

Sure....it is a Pedersoli trade gun. Some knock Pedersoli's rendition but we don't have the choice you guy's do!
It was sparking poor! It has improved since thinning the (lightening) the frizzen spring!
Field testing tomorrow!

I have ordered some plastic rod to make a jag ended loading rod to fit a knob to and carry in the field via loops on the bag! Save the original one then!
