Jerry Miculek videos on YouTube
For some of the very best gun info and shooting ability go to Jerry Miculek's videos on YouTube.
This guy is a proven expert. His greatest fame was achieved with speed shooting of a revolver but he has great knowledge about all guns. He knows a little bit about speed shooting of the rifle too--as you'll find-out.
What makes his videos even better is they are in HD (Hi-Definition) though you may have to left click on little "gear" at lower right of video to ensure this resolution.
edit: Came back to add: He just about has too much fun!! Another big plus for his videos.
And....don't miss the one where he's shooting a Barrett 50 BMG semi-auto !

Re: Jerry Miculek videos on YouTube
Jerry is almost unbelievable to watch. He has a natural ability that is much more than just practice and a never ending supply of ammo can develop.
My dad knew a man like him when he was a kid. My dad said his entire front lawn was a couple inches deep in empty .22 shells. This guy was one of those long past factory sponsored exhibition shooters that used to shoot at county fairs and such.

Hope you don't mind me momentarily hijacking the thread, but these video's are from a friend of mine in Canada who is a great guy, good hunter and very good shot. He made these in response to someone saying he could never shoot fast enough with a levergun and that pepper spray was better. Yeah, right! LOL! -Tutt

Cowboy Tutt,
Enjoyed that and be glad to see more like it.
Yes, his good shooting and good personality become apparent.
Some shooters might think he ought to have shot a little faster with his rapid fire but with that load--if you want to be accurate at all at that distance--a slight amount of recovery time is required. Not at all like shooting a 44-40 fast.

Re: Jerry Miculek videos on YouTube
Thanks Don. Cam is a good family man with a young son named Jayden who is 3 years old now and Cam is already introducing him to hunting and shooting. He will probably be a child prodigy some day. Since you asked, here is another video of Cam, this time shooting his very custom Ruger Super Red Hawk 454 with a beautifully shortened barrel and converted to use moon clips for 45 Colt and 454 Casull. I still remember when he was having this gun built by a gunsmith in Canada. It is much better looking than most shortened and custom SR revolvers. You can see the difference in recoil between the 45 Colt +P loads and the 454 Casull. He is still able to shoot it pretty accurately at short range even with Casull loads. If you want to see more video's by Camp Cook, just click on the link by his name. He has like 19 videos. I don't want to hijack this thread anymore. Jerry M. is an amazing individual and he is truly a super-natural shooter and fun guy. -Tutt

Some folks are just naturally gifted. Miculek is one of them. I watched a show on TV one time where he and another famous shottist were trying to out do each other on trick shots. Miculek had 6 Springfield XD full size 9mm pistols set up where their barrel was placed over a wooden dowel to hold them where he could grab and go with them. He emptied one in his left hand and one in his right hand at the same time for 6 total pistols into a target about 15 yards away in something like 8 seconds. It was impressive.

Bob Munden is another naturally gifted guy. I can't believe the stuff he can do with a single action to this day. -Tutt

Re: Jerry Miculek videos on YouTube
This is my favorite Miculek video. He makes particular mention of using these strategies except for the 460 or 500 S&W. I'm guessing his foot placement is a hybrid isocles/weaver but with a forward/square presentation of his chest and head when shooting those cartridges. Probably the most instructional video of shooting stances I have ever seen. -Tutt

I don't want to be THAT guy, but the show your mentioning is called Impossible Shots, it's an off shoot of Shooting USA, and Jerry has shot for S&W his whole career. Great show, great group of guys. The show's websight has many more videos. The things he does with revolvers IS seemingly impossible shots.

Some may know this but for those that don't Jerry Miculek is married to Kay Clark. Kay is the daughter of Jim Clark of Clark Custom Guns.
The first time I meet Jerry was at CCG. As far as I know, he, Kay and Jim Jr. are still at CCG

There are some real famous shooters out there. But also some unknown shooters with great talents as well.

Re: Jerry Miculek videos on YouTube
Both those guys are good shots for sure! I never thought to even try the things I do now until I met Jim Williamson of the Shootists. He really "opened my eyes" to what is possible if you try, and just practice. Even with a Bisley grip frame, that 500 Linebaugh has terrible recoil. I don't think even my 460 snubbie with a 300 grain pill kicks that bad!
As to Bob Munden, I didn't realize he passed away until this thread and I googled his name. I've been away from the shooting world and hanging out on Harley forums far, far too long. Shooters are by far the better people. Bob Munden customized my Ruger Bisley but more than anything, I just enjoyed talking to the man. He loved Harleys, shooting, and was just a hoot to talk to. For all his amazing ability, I found him to be a very funny, kind and humble man. RIP.
