Gifting the BLR

This is my Grandson Ford with his new, (to him) BLR in 308.

The scope is set far back because the stock is too long for him.

That ought to be all he will ever need. I hope he learns to want more of those great guns with the levers the way the rest of us do.

The sad state of America these days is that many parents would only give a kid that age a toy nerf-gun, if they even gave him a 'gun' at all... :(

Good lookin' boy and rifle. Hopefully he and Grandpa will get to take many trips to the woods with him toting it.

Ford says: I'm really interested in lever actions. All those high tech things that kids want now days are stupid! If you wanna be the right guy, you gotta have a lever action. I have a Marlin 39 too and a Winchester model 12, 20 gauge with a matted rib.
No! I will not trade it for an X-box.

That scope makes me cringe being mounted so far back. Reminds me of the first time I shot my '06 BLR and crawled up on the stock like I do my open sighted Winnie. Ouch!
