OT-Service

Post by Jarhead »

At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle
on the meaning of the word 'service.'
It's the act of doing things for other people.
I then heard these terms which reference
the word 'service'.
Internal Revenue 'Service'
U.S. Postal 'Service'
Telephone 'Service'
T.V. Service
Civil 'Service'
City & County Public 'Service'
Customer 'Service'
and 'Service' Stations
Then I became confused about the
word 'service.' This is not what I
thought 'service' meant. So today,
I overheard two farmers talking, and
one of them said he had hired a bull
to 'service' a few of his cows. BAM!!! ...
It all came into perspective. Now I
understand what all those 'service'
agencies are doing to us.
I hope you now are as enlightened as I am.

When the bull services my cows, I get the benefit of it, even though he seems to enjoy it also.

When those agencies of the government service us, I don't even get kissed!

That was about as tasteful a way to put it as I've seen...

Service is misunderstood most by those that are charged with giving such. I think the rest of us "get it."

The worst part is when my congressman tells me he's going to Washington to "Serve me." that's when I get nervous.

I am old enough to remember a old TV show about alien creatures who arrived carrying a book, How to Serve Man. Turned out to be a cookbook!

An old bull and a young bull are on a hill overlooking a heard of cows. The young bull says, "Let's run down and "service" a few of those cows". The old bull replies, "We should walk down and "service" them all". :D

It's your wallet that gets to feel their gentle caress.
