I have a marlin 357 lever with the first two numbers 21,does that mean it was made in 79?

Durn it, 1886, I wuz gonna tell him it meant it was a special run of non-shootable lever guns made for export to Chinese movie makers, and offer to take that dangerous thing off his hands for $100... :twisted:

I just sold one today, I think it was made -late 80s or early 90s. It was unfired. I have no idee what the serial number was.
Now if I can sell the 44mag tomorrow.
