Daughter got a Benelli semi-auto R1

Post by madman4570 »

Daughter has a hang up on 30-06
Loves that cartridge. Think it initially started because she loves the M1
However shooting offhand too heavy.
So for her BD her man bought her a new R1 in 30-06
Made in Italy,wood just beautiful.
She said it kicks about like her Marlin lever in .308 Marlin.
Now for scope, she is researching. But she just had to shoot it even though was only with rail.
Kid is getting some fine guns. Wife said aren't you getting tired of guns, her answer "never"
That a girl.

I have a friend in NH that uses an R1 exclusively and he is very happy with it. That's a nice rifle for your daughter. Best of luck to her with it.

Probably not bad for hunting, it's basically a Benelli shotgun except it's a rifle.... Weird magazine placement, etc for a guy raised on military rifles.

I'd say low Badger rings and a 2.5-10X.

Not all of us younger people are totally lost. I hunt with a 7mm Mauser made in the 30's and if I get a new rifle, it'll either be a Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308 or a Ruger Guide Gun in .30-06.
