I have been debating on picking up a Rossi in .357 for some time now. My only hesitation is that I am going to spend as much money getting it to run smoothly as I am going to pay for the gun itself. Would appreciate any comments from those who have already purchased one.

I'm not likely as 'picky' as some with more expertise, but armed with some various-grit sandpaper, a couple files and knife-sharpening stones, a black sharpie, and a screwdriver, I typically get my Rossi's pretty darned 'smooth' before the end of 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly'. Haven't tried doing one with a shorter movie. . . maybe I'd get even better results if I watched Lonesome Dove. . .horsesoldier03 wrote:I have been debating on picking up a Rossi in .357 for some time now. Seriously, although NKJ will make it PERFECT, and it is worth the money, most of the fixes are things requiring a bit of patience, elbow-grease, and minimal money. His DVD on the topic is money well-invested, though.

I haven't been paying attention to Rossi lately - are they making them in real walnut now as the spec indicates? All that I know of and have owned except 90s-era Navy Arms have been South American mystery wood.

If you just put a spring kit in it (mainspring, trigger return and ejector spring) you'll think you won the lottery. I've got two of them and think they are great buys.horsesoldier03 wrote:I have been debating on picking up a Rossi in .357 for some time now.
