Great Picture!
It is my fear every AM when I head out to do chores, I have come upon a lion twice out there in the dark. its always a loud walk to the barn with my heeler next to me and of course my 45 strapped on!
So far no snakes which surprises me, but I Am always ready for them! The Coyotes have been pretty quite as well this summer, maybe fall will bring them singing, but its running into the lion that most makes my hair stand on end!
Looks like a great cat, thanks for sharing!!!!!

Re: Bad day for Cat!
Know the area pretty well, but it's been a couple of years since I've been down there. I'm up in the Panhandle, and there are kitty cats up here too. Most folks don't realize that they are out on the Plains, but they live anywhere there's enough to eat.
Re: Bad day for Cat!
Great pic. Nice old CJ. I take it you still have it?
I had a 59 just like it, even the top. I removed the top as it was kind of top heavy.
Mine was called Festus.

Re: Bad day for Cat!
Hello Old Win. That old Jeep is part of the family. The top does make it a bit top-heavy,dont think this one has ever been off. Its a 225 V6 model with the 60/40 seat and 52,000 original mi. Love the pop open windshield ,,,DTOldWin wrote:Great pic. Nice old CJ. I take it you still have it?

Re: Bad day for Cat!
That is a good picture. I bet that the cat would make a fine rug if you want to turn it into one. I have never actually seen one in the wild, but that simply may have been due to the fact that they are great at hiding when they don't want to be seen.

Re: Bad day for Cat!
So glad to hear you still have it! That is really neat. We don't see many with the 60/40 seats up here but the old Dauntless V6 was pretty common, and as I recall, worked pretty good in the woods. Mine had the old Hurricane 4 banger, and even 30 years ago up here made you a traffic hazard.
The trails are VERY tight up here and the flatties and early CJ-5's were great in the woods. I think of them every time I have to turn my TJ Rubicon around in an alder run.
I will see if I can scare up a picture of old Festus.
Almost forgot, that is a beautiful lion. Did you do anything with it? Hide or mount?

Sure would like to see a pic of that old Festus. That cat hide is still rolled-up in the freezer .,,,DTOldWin wrote:So glad to hear you still have it! That is really neat. Re: Bad day for Cat!
Great cat. I wish I had one as a pet. (Actually, a Cheetah (100% domesticatable) or Bobcat (80% domesticatable) would be fine.)
