Keep the COAL at or slightly less than 1.570".

Insure your OAL will fit in the lifter mortise! Note that a truncated cone or flat round nose bullet will feed into the chamber with far less trouble than a semi-wadcutter or other bullet with a "stepped" shoulder. Keep your crimps on the med to heavy side, depending on your loading. Lastly, don't "hot-rod" your loads.

Good advice from Griff.......follow the manuals and be easy on the gun....most of the time.------6

Try some black powder for fun. Make sure you fill the case so the bullet compresses the powder slightly. No air gaps with black powder or use a filler.

Nothing beats smoke and the smell of burning sulphur. Remember to clean the lever action thoroughly!
