I'm glad to see that Henry's expanding their product line, Shawn.
They're an excellent American gun company, that gives a buyer a LOT of value - and some of the best customer service anywhere.

Yep. Thinkin' about a Henry levergun in 22 LR but with ammo prices maybe just go for a 22 Mag.Pete44ru wrote:They're an excellent American gun company, that gives a buyer a LOT of value - and some of the best customer service anywhere.

Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
Finally an affordable alternative to a Marlin 1894.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
I would never have bought a shiny brass Big Boy...now, I might be able to afford a really nice .357 lever....

I was never wild about the brass either, I'm glad to see an all steel version. Might have to pick one of those up, the price is certainly right.

I like that Big Boy carbine in 45 Colt. Wonder how strong they are?

The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

Agree with Tutt, that Carbine looks very nice...if I didn't have my NKJ Trapper I'd be talking with my local FFL about one in .357 right about now. Really like my Henry .22 carbine and everything about the company. Great people, product, and service.

Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
Lots more Cowboy Action folks would be a customer if they slimmed them down and added a side loading gate.
The forend and actions do not seem as "svelt" and light in the hands as the 1866/73 or the Marlin cowboys.
And if they could be Short Stroked the CAS folks would beat a path to their door.
American Made is something CAS folks want. But the Marlins of late have been poor quality and they can't be short stroked to make them race competitive.
There are over 100,000 registered Cowboy Action Shooters and they all have to have a Lever action or a Pump rifle. Although Henry rifles are not in any way "Period Correct", because they are American made and hit entry price points, they have been given special dispensation to be used in CAS events..........Yet in all the event's I've attended I don't think I've seen more than three Henry rifles. And always by a new shooter who moves to a Uberti, Winchester or Marlin within a few matches.
You do see the Rimfire Henry rifles being used by lots of Buckaroos.

Actually, the Marlin 1894's stroke can be shortened. And, in the right hands, they're just as competitive.rbertalotto wrote:Lots more Cowboy Action folks would be a customer if they slimmed them down and added a side loading gate.

Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
I am very impressed with Henry's evolution as a growing and expanding company. I have been critical of the blocky style the weight, and the brass furniture. I am going to E-mail them and ask them to build Me a rifle.. kind of a special order. should be fun to see what they have to say. .

Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
I'm kind of thinking not so much there depending on what you are asking for.
Good company, I like them, but if you want something really modified find a good levergun gunsmith instead to modify a Henry platform.

Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
I would love to see the original (1860) available in a steel frame. I have a brass frame Uberti 1866 and it takes a lot of polishing to keep it looking new.
Re: Some NEW Henry Rifles
So order a Henry steel-framed 1860.

Number 1's already gone, and you couldn't have afforded it anyway, but Henry's building more.
