Firearm Websites You Like

Post by Panzercat »

I mean, aside from this one, of course. The talk about the dead tree gun rags and alternate sources of information got me thinking about the opposite: What site or sites do you like and/or trust? Why? I'll throw one of my favs in--

Realguns. Honest reviews, handloading data. If something sucks, he'll let you know and goes into wonderful detail concerning the inner workings with plenty of photos. He likes his ruger, but I haven't seen that detracts from his articles. There's a subscription portion to the website, but the amount of free content is extensive.

When I'm not here you most likely can find me at rugerforums.com . Both are fast moving boards. Some of the others, you can log in once a month and miss nothing.

This is the only game I play as far as the Internet is concerned.

I get my info from "Rifle", "Handloader", American Rifleman, and of course, probably the most accurate, my own personal experimentation.-----6

I have an account on the CBA boards. Like Chuck said, you can not log on for a month and miss nothing. However, when it comes to wringing the utmost out of cast bullets there isn't a better group around. For the most part this place suits me fine and I enjoy reading Gunblast from time to time.

I too frequent "rimfirecentral" a lot of very good information there, just don't say anything political or say you dislike the Beatles, I did and got suspended...
I'm also a member of the "16 Gauge Society" another very civilised place to visit.

About the only other place I hang out is ScoutRifle.org. Good bunch and a surprising amount of levergun content.

These two and Leverguns.Com are about the only firearms websites I frequent, unless I find something posted on these which I want to check out.

Not 'forums' although they do have some 'talk' sections I don't use:

AmmoGuide.com - large and easily sorted database for reloading data and cartridge comparisons, rechambering questions, etc.

LoadData.com - I believe it is all factory load data, but not as easily sorted and no 'comparison' capabilities.

I use AmmoGuide to look for options, then as I hone them down, I tend to double-check them to see if they are within range of the LoadData factory load data.

Rossi Rifleman - hosted by RanchDog, and a nice friendly place. Lots of newbies there and they seem to get treated right.

Sometimes I'll check MarlinOwners or the Ruger or Savage forums, for a specific 'issue'.

Also Indiana Gun Owners since it has 'local' news.

All together 95% is here, and 3% AmmoGuide, and the rest rarely.
Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws
"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

The reviews at realguns are very entertaining. I enjoy his sense of humor and writing style. Go into his archives and read about calibers and guns you like. It's worth your time.

This is the only forum I visit on any regular basis. I learned a lot on the shootersforum by beartooth bullets, but don't visit much anymore, a lot of good cast bullet info there.

Use to be a couple of others I had been on for quite some time that did and no doubt still has lots of good info but I grew tired of the internet tough guys tht seem to sprout over night. I still check in here, stickbow.com and crappie.com everyday.
