Idle hands are the devil's workshop

Post by TedH »

Slow day at work today left me with time to scan Gunbroker for 375 Winchesters. This early Big Bore XTR beauty was at $499 with just 10 minutes left. I couldn't believe it would sell for that, but as the clock ticked away there were no more bids. Well shoot, I bid just $505 and won the dang thing. It appears to be very minty condition, hope it's as nice in person as it looks in the pics.

Glad you found it and not me. I might buy one at that price but have too many to shoot now.

Nice!!! I have got some pretty good deals of GB while at work. I get stuck on hold a lot waiting on vendors and since I am standing in front of my computer and I have GB in my Favorites it gives me a few minutes at a time to shop.

I had it's twin a few years ago and foolishly sold after I found a Marlin 375. Been looking for a decent deal on a replacement ever since.

Very nice, good score!

Might be adding yet another 375 to the stable. A friend of mine is trying to sell me a couple guns. Will see him at a wedding on Saturday, and he's showing me a Marlin 444, and a 375 Winchester T/C Contender. I have a feeling the old checkbook is going to be hurting after this weekend.

Great score ! My experience in looking for those (i want a 307 ) is a lot of people put their starting price higher than what you won yours for

How soon til you get powder coated bullets made for it and do gelatin tests? What a great score. Todd/3leg
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

I've got powder coated cast bullets I've been shooting in my Marlin 375 already. I hadn't planned on doing any geletin tests with them, because the design has been thoroughly researched by Ranch Dog, and I already took the biggest buck of my life with that bullet, so I know it's an efficient killer (the one in my avatar). Honestly, I think it would take several feet of geletin to stop one anyway.

Yeah, that's the cheapest I've seen one in a long time. Couldn't resist. I picked it up on Friday, and it's every bit as nice as I'd hoped. Just haven't had time to play with it yet or snap any pics.

Went to a friend's daughter's wedding on Saturday, and came home with a 375 Contender, and a Marlin 444. It's a sickness I do believe.
