Supposedly, a CA expert has authenticated the above photo as Billy the Kid playing croquet.

It was bought in a miscellaneous lot for $2.00 but Fox News say it may go for $5,000,000
Kevin Costner is going to make a movie about it.

That's a low-res copy. It looks like maybe a schoolhouse. Swing in front. Lots of little ones in stand-by mode. No visible firearms. I'd like to see details of the others, but this image doesn't enlarge well enough. I wonder if any of the others have been identified.

I think that the man pointing could be Dick Brewer (Richard M. Brewer) was killed at Blazer Mill by Buckshot Roberts.
Roberts shot Brewer through the eye with a .45/70.

"FRESNO, Calif. -- A collector bought a photo at a junk shop in Fresno, California, for $2. Turns out, the guy on the left of the photo is the infamous outlaw, Billy the Kid, playing croquet.

Photos of Billy are extremely rare-- experts say this one could be worth $5 million..."

I don't live too far away from where the find took place. This area holds quite a few little known secrets from the days of the Old West.

Interestingly enough, I still possess (handed down father to son) a couple of dozen .45 Colt 250 grain XTP bullets that Billy the Kid used to load his Single Action Army. I am hereby offering them for sale at the fair price of $1,00 each, never been used. Quite a bargain for a piece of history.

Apparently, they identified four other individuals in the photo, and historical records gave them an event at the locale where all 5 would have been at the same time.

Maybe I'm spittin' sour grapes, but of what use to history is the knowledge that Billy the Kid played croquet, and why would anyone pay $5M for proof that he did?

:lol
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Far as I know, prior to this, there was only one authenticated photo of B the K. So, I guess any photo of him would be valuable no matter what he was doin'. I would have paid $6M, but it was sold before I found out about it! :P

I sorta thought yer remark required some instructions... like: "no less than 10 pages; include regional and national impact, if any; typed, double spaced... " :P

One of the folks in the documentary, to these eyes well done, identified the lady to the right of the pointing man as Sarah Chisum. The image was made by a crack photographer, is in good condition, will inspire debate and research for years and invites us to step through a just opened door. Who's goin'?

It isn't so much that it's another pic of the Kid, but it's the only known pic of the Regulators... Or as some would say, Billy and his gang..
