Help finding a scope
My friend is looking to buy a varmint scope, silver, crosshairs or dot, finger adjustable knobs with side focus a plus. Maybe 4-16 or some such. $400.00 or so.
Beat the interweb to death last night, could not find one, was thinking of the Nikon Buckmasters 6-18 but it appears they don't make it any more. Couldn't find anything in the Weaver line.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Give me a week. I'll get him a Lucid (I think it's an L5) for $350ish... will that work?

Re: Help finding a scope
Sorry forgot about the color, mat black or camo for the 4.5-14. they dont have target turrets as you dont need them with the E1 plex. danny

Re: Help finding a scope
I found out a few years ago that it is NOT that difficult to paint a matte-black scope (or probably even a 'glossy' one) whatever color of 'silver' you want.
Most of the 'silver' ones I see are too gaudy, and don't even match a stainless-steel rifle, if that is the goal - so I go with a matte-black for contrast, or otherwise, just paint one with whatever silver/grey I can match from the local paint store...the end result will likely be more attractive than the 'silver' ones you can buy anyway...

I don't know if its available in silver, but I sure like my Vortex Viper HS 4-16 with Bullet Drop Compensator corsshairs, 30mm tube, side focus. Sportsman's Warehouse had them for under $400 last year.

.
If you spend some time in the rifle scope section of SWFA, they have about the lowest online prices, for virtually every scope available - and they're good folks to deal with (I've bought 4 or 5 scopes from them, over the years).

Be sure to have your friend also check SWFA'a weekly "specials" on the SWFA home page (the specials change every week) - one Christmastide several years ago, I scored a $730 Trijicon Accupoint scope for $399.
