Post by rossim92 »

I have two henry rifles . one is a .22lr lever and the other is a .22 mag in pump, The buttstocks are a bit short for me. Can anyone recommend extensions that will add about three inches more or less. I am 6'3 tall with long arms. :D

I am not home at the moment so can't check our Henry 22, but Several firearms I've had, including Rossi leverguns, can be fit to the Rubber one made for the 10/22.

If you need a lot of length added, you probably wont get enough from a rubber buttplate. You might consider what target shooters use; an adjustable buttplate. They are made of aluminum, so they can be ground to the shape of your wood for a nice fit. Being adjustable makes them a perfect fit, without harming the existing wood, so it can be returned to original later. Some require a single hole drilled in the stock, but it's not a necessity, as you can trim the plate's post on the back side to make it flush with the mounting plate.

May or may not help; My Rossi Puma felt a bit short so I found a leather butt pad/cuff that laced up and looked "period". I added 1" of foam to the inside of the cuff and laced it up tight. Works for me...

Build a piece of wood to fit nicely, exactly the length you want, attached to the stock more or less permanently as fits your preference, and then get a nice looking leather buttstock cover to hide it.
