308 Win in Big Bore 307?

Post by handirifle »

I know it's been discussed before, but can the 308 Win (factory loads) be fired safely in a Big Bore 307? Feeding or ejecting issues not withstanding.

Is COAL usually an issue? I know pointed bullets can be loaded 1 in chamber, 1 in magazine, but will they feed OK? Assuming something like a 150-165gr load.

They won't cycle through the action. The 308 AOL is .240 longer than the 307. Same with the 358 Win and 356 Win. Single shot only.

OK, the cases are identical, except for slightly larger rim on the 307, so it's the bullet choice, then. Or at least where the cennelure is located. Thanks.
