That looks like fun! Going to have to get a suppressor one of these days. I have a Savage .22 with a threaded barrel that is just screaming for one. I'd able to shoot in the back yard finally!

If you are going to spring for one, and do the paperwork and tax stamp stuff, consider one like the Mystic, that is take-apart (needed for 22 LR, and helpful for all non-jacketed atuff), and "multi-caliber". I can use my Mystic for:

22 LR, WMR, and 17 HMR (the supersonic are noisier but still made much quieter than without the can)

22 Hornet; and 22 TCM & 218 Bee (if mine were threaded)

223 (makes regular ammo sound like a 22 LR)

300 Blk, 30-30; 308 subsonic only, 32-20

9Mm, 38 Spl, 357 Mag, 357 Max, 35 Rem

Very versatile...!

Just what I was thinking. I want to get a threaded barrel for the new G17 as well.

Even though I can buy one for cost, I just have not had the enthusiasm to buy several, which I want. My son has three and pesters me all the time. Yea, yea, I tell him.

But now that I'm retired and more libs are moving in the area, I'm gonna buy a few. One just for .22rf, one for 9mm/45 and one for 30 cal. I'm doing my research now and the bi-weekly Gun Digest has a mess of articles on them. One thing for sure, you want the kind you can take apart as I use a lot of cast.

Now I hear "The Donald" wants them to be "over the counter" with a standard background check which they should be. The jury is still out.-----6

I should get the tax stamp for a suppressor. A 9mm with 147 grain subsonic rounds and a suppressor would be pretty quiet. My remaining hearing would probably thank me.

Kind of cute.

I want one, but I just can't break down and kiss that big federal behind.

:?
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

Agreed. If and when(?) Don Trumpovese and his Consiglieri put the NFA on ice, I may very well get an OEM version.

This one is mine. It started as a Ranch hand so it got stamped for the buttstock and the can.
It's in 357m and the can doesn't come apart so I just soak it in Ed's Red.

This one started as a 16" then cut to 12" so it got stamped for the barrel and the can. It's a 45lc
With the 300 grainers it a real thumper. The gold finish is the Titanium nitride or TIN.

Not to get political here but If you're not aware of it check out a piece of legislation that is hovering in the House right now. Ask your Congressman to sign on as a co-sponsor of THE HEARING PROTECTION ACT that will remove silencers from the NFA list.

Won't happen until after Jan 20.

But after that?

Saving your hearing is not a political issue unless you want it to be. I am regretting some of the times I did not use hearing protection.
A sound suppressor with subsonic 22lr in the back yard and the appropriate backstop would be a lot of fun. The neighbors would bear very little.

Too late for me.
