Where can I find a sight elevator for 1893 Marlin?
I have had this nice, old, 1893 Marlin lever action rifle in 32-40 caliber for most of my life, and when I pulled it out to play with it the other day, I noticed that the rear sight elevator was missing. I am not sure when I lost it, but looked around and couldn't find it. Anybody know a likely source for a replacement?

All over the internet. Ebay, gunbroker, etc. Originals and repros. $25-$60
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Might not have lost it. Some of my 93's need that removed to shoot to point of impact. Just a thought.
a Pennsylvanian who has been accused of clinging to my religion and my guns......Good assessment skills.

None of Winchester Bob's sights or elevators are correct for an 1893 Marlin.

Marlinman, I think you are correct. I compared the picture of the rear Marlin sight in Bob's catalog to the sight on my 1893, and they are different. My 1893 was made in about 1904, per the serial number (293XXX), and maybe Bob's sights are for later Marlins.
It is possible that the elevator is not needed. I'll have to shoot the rifle again to see where point of impact is. But, the rifle just doesn't look right without the elevator.

It may shoot well without an elevator, but at one distance. Without a proper elevator you wont be able to raise it for longer shots.southfork wrote: ↑Mon Dec 25, 2017 12:33 pm Marlinman, I think you are correct.
