10 gauge combo

Post by 6pt-sika »

The long gun is circa 1883 Parker Grade 2 top lever hammer gun 32” Damascus barrels and a second set of Belgian made fluid steel barrels with 3 1/2” chambers and Briley screw in chokes . The gun started life as a pistol grip gun but in the last twenty to thirty years it was restocked and made into a straight grip . So as one would expect the drop at comb and heel dimensions are quite modern . Rather easy gun to shoot well . The short gun started life as an H&R singke barrel 10 ga3 1/2” and my gunsmith buddy chopped the barrel and stock , he’s a Class three licensed dealer and manufacturer so it stays at the shop most of the time , I will say it isn’t bad to shoot with my 2 7/8” handloads but 3 1/2” factory loads are another matter .

So glad you didn't have to cut down a Parker to make that 10 gauge Combo......

That thing isn’t mine I just borrowed ! If we can scoop up another 10 gauge H&R barrel I’ve got him talked into cutting it off and boring it out to 8 gauge . There’s more than enough meat in the chamber and barrel for doing that .

+1

I don't think you could pay me to fire off the chopped one with 3&1/2" full power shells. Now Y2K? He's in his mid-20's now, and a recoil junkie. I dimly remember those days!!!

When Charles Dalys were made in Prussia they made a drilling that was 10 -10 and 45-70 . It was a hammer gun by the way . It isn’t a Parker but I’d like having one .
