Another .410 ?

Post by Tycer »

The .410 in most guns comes with a fixed full choke.
Nath opened his up a few thou.
No one that I could find (except Briley $$$) threads .410 bore guns.
I’d really like a threaded choke.
I’m still relegating myself to about a grand to set up reloading and the firearm.
That, in my mind, leaves me with the opened Mossy or the Henry, either the long barrel or ugly black gun in the Henry.
I know there’s the Tristar and the other Turkish gun Gforce but….
Suggestions?
Kind regards,
Tycer

You find a Mossberg 183 with external modified and full choke tubes. The external tube would be easy to open a much as you want. https://www.havlinsales.com/
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Guns International, search 410 shotguns.
The have a used 870 express for $800ish.
Doesn't say what choke it has.

Lots of other 410s listed as well.

Well, I was fondling a very nice Holland & Holland 410 SxS yesterday at an auction house up state. I'm sure they'll make you one any way you want--for a price.

Even nicer was an older Rizzini Brothers SxS: Flawless workmanship on their guns. Simply wow.

I was looking at these and thinking "they could make a really nice double 44-40 on that wee action..."

I hope this will be my next .410.....

https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_inf ... 10+20+blue

The reviews complain of action being hard to open/close......

I did not see choke(s) in description but a reviewer mentions full & full so one or both will need to be honed looser.

Tycer, head to one of the 15 Academy Sports stores in North Carolina and ask to look at their Yildiz O/U and SXS shotguns. These run about $500 and in .410 get very good reviews on the I Love My Yildiz forum at Shotgunword.
I have the O/U and it has easily changed chokes to accommodate the clay sportsman.

The turkish guns mentioned in the o.p. meant nothing to me until I received this unsolicited email pitch........

Every homestead needs a big-boned wench like that if only to saw, chop, split and stack stovewood.....

“ if you’re looking for a gun right out of the box that runs flawlessly right out of the box, this is probably not it…”
