Great gun show finds this morning. Again!

Post by 2ndovc »

My dad and I went to a little show this morning. Usually find something interesting there, but hadn't seen anything I couldn't live without. I was getting a little worn out, but my dad talked me into one more pass. There was a box of ziplocs full of brass that I hadn't seen before. Pulled out a bag of fifty .35 Winchesters and a bag of twenty .250-3000. I asked the kid what he wanted and he said $15 for both!

Certainly made it worth the drive!

The .250-3000 brass was a great find, but that .35 Winchester is even tougher to find these days! You definitely hit the jackpot on those two, and at a steal too!

Got lucky, big time. Some of the .35s have been reloaded at least once, but are in good shape. The .250 Savage brass is really dirty, but Norma mfg. :D
I've been scrounging the shows for .250s for a while and have enough now to keep me shooting grandpa's Model 70 for a long time. The .35s were a real surprise. I haven't seen any of that at a show for at least a decade.

Not long after finding this super deal at that show, I decided it was time to straighten up my office.
Grabbed a couple of cardboard boxes, one for junk to get rid of, one for the attic and one for ammo reloading stuff to go the basement.

Had the kiddo help put stuff away. Not long after I wanted to go down and load some of the new .35 WCF for Grandpa's 95. Looked all over the house and couldn't find the .35s, 250 brass and a full box of .250s. I thought I must have put them all in the wrong box and it ended up in the trash. Not a happy camper!

Yesterday, I went up in the attic, looking for a pistol case and when I pulled it out of the cardboard box, there was the missing brass and ammo!!
I guess the moral of the story is, I need to stop trying to be organized. Something always goes missing.

Can't wait to load up some of those .35s! :D

Nice score on the 35 Winchester. And, glad you found it after it went missing. I hate losing stuff.

I'm just the opposite. If I don't organize my stuff it's gone. Everything has to have it's place or I'll lose it.

My wife loves it because everything is always neat and in it's place. Been that way since I was a kid.

Never have been and isn't going to change anytime soon. The garage is in decent shape, but anytime my wife comes in my office or my reloading room, she just shakes her head. Told her those two rooms are off limits. She has a big darned house she can do what ever she wants.
Last time she got on me about my office, I said "Be gone with you, wench!". She didn't find that nearly as funny as I did! :D

I have a system, and I pretty much know where everything is. It might not be exactly pretty, but, my system works for me.
