I bought two for my sons when they were 9 and 11 yrs. They just bought me a Henry for my 71st birthday. It's a nice shooter but not so traditional as the Marlin.

Another thing about this photo is that it surely is before the days of OSHA. All those moving belts and other "exposed" pieces of equipment would not pass muster for workplace safety. Times have really changed!

As soon as I read your question I thought of Kubotas. I know several guys who have them and are happy with their performance. I can't speak from personal experience, but several other forum members obviously seem in favor of them as well. Good luck- I'd like to buy a new tractor.

Nice Job ! You're lucky you didn't have to haul it a long way by yourself. Not only are the gut piles big, but a mature bull is a load to tote. Your planned future horseback hunt won't make it as easy to get the meat out as it sounds like it was on this hunt.

I'd go with Malamute's plan. Also, his advice regarding both insulation and venting is sound. The additional costs necessary with be worth it in terms of comfort in using your cabin in both summer and winter. Just my opinion.
