I'm on the hunt for a Model 8 and just got to thinking about potential issues with my purty face vs. ejected cases. Anyone know how these rifles usually throw spent cases??? Angle, etc.?

I love scopes like that; i.e. ocular end same size as objective end.

The scope on my .270 WCF Model 70 is similar to the one you mention: it's a 2-8x Burris Signature. I've never felt under-scoped with it.

FYI: The front sight on my .375 BB94 is definitely not plumb, either, but just barely so. It's as if the receiver threading for the barrel shank was cut just a little too much. Too cool. Even had some footage of some old leathernecks in there. I could be wrong, but I swear the battleship footage looked like it could've been off the Texas . Oh, I'm worried about it, alright. Even before this, I regularly carried a concealed sidearm to that park. I did go looking for it early this AM. I took my .40 and my binos and basically "cleared" the park. With so many kids around I don't think I want to take passive approach, in this case.

Those cats are pretty good at crossing. I don't think I've ever seen a road-kill mountain lion. I've seen many dead deer and coyotes, and even gators on the stretch of I-10 between New Orleans and the bridges to Slidell, but never a cougar.

They are not protected here. Parks and Wildlife just asks that you notify them where you see or shoot them so they can update their sighting database.
