Re: OT: do we have any leverHAMs out here?

Extra Class here. Go for it, so many avenues to explore in amateur radio. I found that long distance contacts are what I enjoy the most. I put together an offset dipole antenna and with 100 watts, I can talk all over the world. I got into HAM after 911 and was heavy into the Emergency radio aspect f...

Re: OT - Handgun question, ...seeking opinions

Love those grips kimwcook! I bought mine new in 1992 and did all the modifications myself, pretty much what kimwcook posted. Love this gun, great shooter! Just recently had it added on my CCW and have been carrying it, it's been pretty way to long! http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d71/SeaOx/Colt/IM...

I found I get OK photos shooting outside in the shade, (Digital camera, low pixle) at sundown/sunrise or overcast. Just do not have the equipment for decent flash photography and sunlight seems to harsh. http://i962.photobucket.com/albums/ae110/scotts702/Virginian%20Dragoon/IMG_3732.jpg http://i33.p...

Re: Ot/ Another T/C contender question

I'll tell ya, I love the big and slow shooters but.... if you want a great little shooter for animals coyote sized and smaller and able to reach way out there the .204 Ruger is a fun little cartridge. It flies in the face of big and reletivly slow cartridges that most of us prefer though. Here's my ...

OT - Holster, Needle In A Haystack

I was at a local gunshop recently and can never help myself from looking in the box of old discarded holsters. The price is $5.00 each if you can find one that might fit something you have in mind. Anyways I came across this old Geo. Lawrance Co. flap holster that was interesting and immediately tho...

I bought my .54 TC Hawkins in 1984 and have been hunting Mule Deer with it since. I'm a round ball shooter and the first few years I could not get it to shoot accurately with heavy loads. The stock barrel was set up to shoot conical/maxi balls. I did some research back then and found a barrel that w...

Very nice! Love the old three screws. Like Joe, I have one with the short barrel but older.
They seem to be above average in the accuracy department which is probably due to the excellent trigger on most 3 screws.

My new/old Ruana came in the mail today!! When I was buying this knife I did not notice the inserts were not elk horn but are micarta. I was told that Rudy ran out of elk horn in 1982-83 and substituted micarta in it's place. Making the knife fairly easy to date to that period and not very common. I...
