I had that problem with mine at first and the gunsmith fixed it; I don't know what he did, but I would say yes, modification or smoothing would be a good idea. If you start having under the carrier jams, that tinfoil piece, I think it's the cartridge stop, needs replacing once in a while. You might ...

IMHO the 357 Mag muzzle blast, wall penetration and flash would keep me from wanting it to be my first choice for HOME self defence. Well I got started late in life and have no guns with family or other sentimental ties. I have carried certain guns more than others, and got game with one. I see lots of lame shots in movies. They have the squibs, and blood, but they still blow it. Like a guy is shot in a restroom, with a mirror behind him. I heard they were phasing out all the IMR's where there were duplicate numbers, and keeping the H's.
However some people are still finding the discontinued ones.
I believe the H's were re-done to be "extreme" powders, not affected by heat or cold.

Kind of small inside. What impressed me the most is when it was coming in, they touched down, the pilot reversed the pitch on the props and that airplane stopped on a dime. Most amazing thing I ever saw.
