You'll like that mill, what size saw did you get for a power head. Keep the chain sharp it will keep it from wandering when you make the cut.That truck will come in handy for getting firewood and such. danny

I use flies on high mtn lakes but on spin gear with a clear bobber when the brookies and cutts quite the flies I switch to panther martins or bait. danny

The hornadys will work just fine on deer Ive shot mulies and wt thru the heart/lung does the job every time. If anything the hornadys might be a little light to shoot thru both shoulders of a elk or moose. I like eating elk and moose so I dont do that but some people do. danny

Super X or CCI 40 grn solids for predators just shot the new Hornady 30 gr Vmax yesterday 5" group @ 200 yds windy and 8* will wait for a nicer day, will use on rock chucks and gophers if they will group. danny

BP is used in quarrying of marble and granite that is slabbed as BP is a low exp and doesnt produce fractures in the stone that high exp does. I have heard from old timers that there was several grades and manufactures of BP . danny

John mules will kill other small animals goats ,sheep,calves and foals unless they are raised with them my hunting partner's john mule killed 2 of his newborn calves jumped 2 fences to get it done. I would only use jenny's or molly mules for guard animals. danny

Thats my riding and hunting rig its a fred hook slickfork it weights about 25 lbs it is a pleasure to ride in all day, hook uses a McClellan tree in his saddles. danny

Thats a roping tiedown 20 Cows is using it keeps the horses head down while roping as they say it keeps the horse collected. I have to use one sometimes on my big heading horse when he gets uppity. danny

This has always worked for me it doesnt get in the way of spurring or roping and so long as the muzzle is above his belly line it wont hang up going over blowdowns. Danny

I keep the butt of the rifle at about the top of the horses hip bone and if Iam going up real steep country I will use a leather string. I tried butt forward but it interfered with spurring, even chasing a cow and tossing a loop I havent lost a rifle, I'll see if I cant find a photo. danny

Any of those would work I carry mine sights up butt to the rear on the right side of the horse, always have the rifle on the off side that you dismount from no hang ups if you have to get off quick. Ive carried rifles this way for years working cows and hunting, never had any problems. danny

53 grs of IMR 4895 @ 2450 fps gives me 3/4" 3 shot group at 100 with peep sights in a brning 71 24" bbl and a 200 gr hornady. This load is from the Lyman #45 load manual and is listed as a accuracy load. danny

Make sure you support the bbl area where the sight is so it wont move and use a steel hammer,big wont hurt, with a brass drift the sight goes in and comes out on the right side, some wd40 and left to soak could help. danny

I use a geber hatchet and a frosts of sweden knife as I quarter my deer and elk to pack them out on stock most of my heavy work is done in the field . I keep my knives and hatchets shaving sharpe with a DMT 2 grit diamond folder. danny
