One Bullet, Three Guns, and One Big Pot

I own a 44 Magnum handgun and carbine. I also own a 444 Marlin rifle. I want to squirrel away some bullets for their futures. Since .429 caliber is wide enough to work without having to expand, and because lead is still somewhat available, I'm thinking about casting this "all around" bulle...

Hey Old Savage, I've got a similar combo and it serves me well. I use the same load in both guns, 158 grain Winchester JHP leaving the handgun muzzle around 1200 fps. Take a 348 Winchester case, blow it out just a tad (retain some shoulder angle and body taper for easy feeding and extraction), top it with a 350 grain Barnes X-Bullet (a flat point bullet would need to be made), and drive it at around 2350 fps, and you'd have all the cartridge you'd need for stuff ...

One of the good things about Boddington is his willingness to admit when he's wrong. I remember years back when he was touting the virtues of the Remington 7MM Magnum. He'd go on and on about how flat it shot and how hard it hit and what a good "big" game cartridge it was. It used to drive...

Yeah, that rumor's been around for awhile. Make sure you've removed excess grease and oil from the action and barrel (the barrel should be dry) and go out and shoot the thing. When you're done shooting or when the gun is dirty, clean it. No break in required.
