My photography skills are lacking. I had a light on the left side of the rifle so the wood on the butt stock shows up lighter than the forearm, but they are both the same, unstained walnut. Although Tru-Oil does have some color to it.

I always looked for bargain rifles with buggered up wood and good bluing. I can't do the bluing, but the wood is easy enough. Now I'll consider them no matter how the bluing looks.

I was looking at Cast Performance bullets to use in a 45/70 and noticed two cast bullets that might work for the .35 Rem. They have a 180gr and 200gr. both are .358" with gas checks. Any suggestions or comments?

My biggest regret is having sold a 6" Colt Python in Royal Blue. I bought it new in the late seventies and haven't owned a handgun since that could compare in smoothness and finish. The manufacturers just don't make guns with blueing like that anymore.
