I think that marlin "Remington" is having problems with quality control with the new guns. If the SBL was made prior to Remingtontaking over you will be OK, but if it was not I would go with the LTD.

Here is my gun I just got back from Accurate plating, I dont think they do Black Hard Chrome anymore. Mine is Cera-koted (black) and mate hard chromed (silver) I have also done alot of other changes as well. Got one in 30-30 and .44mag! Nice little guns. The 30-30 came with a real big lever, I traded that off for a regular one and like it better.

I would sooooooo much like to hunt wild hogs, I have the perfect gun (Marlin 1895 guide gun cut to 16.25")for it but no hogs. I allways hear what a problem they are and how everyone down south hates them but you never hear of a free hunt for them.

I saw this gun at a local gun store and found it not nearly as nice as a Marlin or Winchester. It just didn't feel tight and the fit and finish were not there.
