OT - AR-15 can do it all...

While reading the threads about the M94 being the do it all rifle... I got to thinking about the AR-15. It's kind of the M94 of the 21st Century. It's also chambered in all kinds of calibers and can be had in .22LR up to 50 Beawolf. Very much like the 94 Winchester. In fact, you could have one lower...

Re: The 94 can't do it all - ...

I think the original post about this was to the effect that the 94 is available in small cartridges and up to the 356 Winchester (or was available). The 88, BLR can handle more cartridge but isn't as versitile as the total incarnations of the 94. I think that was the point. I would argue that the Ma...

I'd check Winchester 760 - its very high energy/volume. That, or W748 - which is a little faster and usually a good bet for any 308-based cartridge - also a ball powder.

Well, the nose length looks like it would work for a 30-30 and I know that the triple shocks with the same caneluer cuts in the bullet shaft handle pressure just like normal cup n core bullets, so the loads should be similar. Personally, I don't see much advantage to this if you can use hard cast le...

The two piece firing pin is a safety device, and the spring is supposed to push the rear section down out of alignment with the front section, that is how it works.
