Updated Review on Current Production Marlin 1895
Howdy - It was just a month or so back that I posted a link to the RealGuns review of what was then a current production Marlin 1895 Guide Gun. Some of you may remember that, while the rifle functioned and demonstrated good accuracy, the fit and finish work was just awful. Well, Joe over at RealGuns...

Holy Cow ! 335nut - I've got The Log of a Cowboy by Andy Adams, and you're right, it's great. There's another one I came across a few months back called The Trampling Herd, by Paul Wellman. It's a great narrative history of the cattle industry with just incredible stories spliced all through the book. - DixieBoy

I hope I didn't bring any confusion into this thread by bringing up Buffalo Bill when the original topic was Monte Walsh. That's a great story in a great book, that made for two great movies. As for Buffalo Bill, there are a slew of books written about him. His own autobiography is good, but I'd rea...

JimT - Thanks for the head's up about the book. I'm going to look for it. For those of us who have never seen how the '76 works on the inside, now we do. That's cool. Now we need a couple more so we can do side-by-side comparisons. Start with a '92 and then maybe a '73. To see them like that with the sideplate removed is neat. But you don't have that option with the '92 o...
