I bought my daughter a Stoeger 410 Coach Gun for her first gun. Both barrels are FULL Choke and it patterns pretty nice out to 25 yards. It is definitely something that I am confident would be suitable for her for a home defense with the modern special loadings available. NOT TO MENTION ALOT OF FUN!

No offence to anyone, but we really should stop spreading rumors, especially about our firearms related lives. I don't think I'm the odd man out here and there are others that tire of "I heard..." bad news about guns and all associated with them as 99% are just rumors. When a rumor deals ...

Growing up, we had a 1941 B Model. For those unfamiliar, it was equipped with a hand clutch and the way you started it, it had a pitcock valve on each of the engine cylinders. You would open those valves and then spin the drum mounted on the side of the engine. Once it was running you closed the val...

I don't see this as a rumor at all. We have experienced ammo shortages and record gun sales following the last two elections. Why should this election be any different? +1 on a blank load for a BP Pistol. I have used 20 grains of P- pyrodex or FFFG BP and then top off the cylinder with cream of wheat and packed tight. This is a Blank Load used by reenactors.

When it comes to Self Defense, one would be wise to go with what works for them and not worry about what everyone else is doing!
Of course, NOT worrying about what everyone else is doing is the best answer for a lot of decisions.

$499 isn't bad for a quality gun that they don't make anymore! You can guarantee that if they used the same manufacturing process, quality parts and craftsmanship to build a rifle like that today, the price would be near $1000.
