The 45-70 FCD that I ordered arrived today. Guess what, it works just like ya'll said it did :D . I set it up and ran 20 rounds through it and it seemed to work great.

Rimfire McNutjob, I interested to here the answers too. I just ordered a FCD for 45-70 to use with 405 grain Remingtons. I have used them in pistol reloading but don't know if they are the same for rifle.

Congratulation on the BLR, I have the pistol grip version in 358 win and really like. I think the 308 gives you much more versatility in loads and is a great round.

Jarhead,

I have an EMF in 45 colt with a 24 inch octagon barrel. I like it alot, it's accurate and fun to shoot. I was shooting 300 grain Cast Performance bullets over 21 grains of 4227 this last weekend and it was just plain fun. I wish I had another one. :D

The 45 Colt "Cowboy Loads" are usually reduced loads for cowboy action shooting. They will shoot in anything chambered for 45 Colt. Most are pretty anemic. They are fun to shoot with low recoil and reduced noise.

I have never heard of a 1895CB coming from Marlin with a 20 inch barrel. Now, that does mean much as I'm no Marlin expert by any means. I have seen 1895CB's, pics, that have been cut down and they look really nice. I have considered doing it to mine.
