Re: Any levergunners in the N.C. area?

Well I live in Georgia but shop and the range is in NC. Murphy, it is just about as far west in NC you can go before hitting TN way deep in the mountains.

Re: Is there only one serial number on the 357 1894 Marlins?

I would stay away from that! like has been said it is verboten to alter the SN and someone from BATF would surely thry to get a raise on your back. That said the sight he used must not have been for that rifle, I have a Lyman on a 30AW and a Marbles on a 1984 and neither required alteration of the S...

Re: COST OF 22 RIMFIRE

The local WM doesn't have very much ammo at all (took the only 7-08) and the only .22 they had was 2-50rnd boxs of Rem Goldens yesterday and the guy at the counter said they are not getting shipments like they use to and it goes as fast as it gets there. Stopped by a different WM about 50 miles down...

Thought it looked familiar, I found the Cast Boolits forum just after that buy closed. Which is why I bought the Saeco instead.

Re: OT - Cooking Bear Meat

A guy I work with killed a bear last year and ground most of it and then smoked a roast using my pork rub. He did it low and slow until internal temp hit 195*. That had to be one of the best smoked meats I have had! just fell apart like one of my pork shoulders. Here in GA you are allowed 1blackie p...

I would throw my hat in for the 180's too. More mass will do more damage, my preference is for cast WFP boolits though.

Re: Re:

I think a sight pusher could be used but don't know if it is cheaper than a vise. And if you hammer like I do there is an extreme danger of missing the punch and hitting something that will need polishing and rebluing! That's why I build garage shelves, fences and decks with deck screws. I hammer l...

Question for 1894 Cowboy .357Mag owners

I have a 1894CP and want to put the slimmer and non-checkered stock and forend on and was wondering if I could get someone who owns a Cowboy version to measure the length and barrel channel width of the forend so that I can make sure that it will work before laying out cash. The stock looks like a n...

+1 on what marlinman said.... ...takes a long time to clean up  skin grafs also take a long time to take. As stated by others AL goes from solid to oh stuff at about 1220* (depending on alloy) which sounds like alot concidering lead melts 620* at and zinc at 780*+/-. but if you are pouring the...

I normaly carry a 1911 IWB but when I where shorts or overalls I carry a SP101 in a Thunderwear holster and no one has a clue. I have several .357's and the SP101 hurts the most to shoot but is the easiest to hide, would not change a thing I just don't shoot much full house at the range with it. I h...
