Re: You have one firearm to survive what is it?
You know Grizz it is a Leverguns forum after all. So it must be a Levergun. My .357 magnum in 24 inch octagonal. 5000 rounds of the best magnum I can get. Now I feel like a more secure Homesteader. The Hawkens I will leave in the barn for the wife (one gun each right, a one for each son - that makes...

Re: You have one firearm to survive what is it?
The rule said ONE rifle and 5000 rounds. So I am going to have a Hawkens Flintlock with a tang sight. I am going to practice getting three shots off in a minute. That is going to be enough for meat and predators. For defense well - how did the homesteaders get on in 1848?

Re: You have one firearm to survive what is it?
The reality is the firearms you need to survive are the ones you actually have. Just make sure you have the ability to reload or have a good muzzleloader. Perhaps the more primitive the rifle the better. A flintlock, a lot of powder and a good supply of flints.

At least here "veterans' day' aka 'Anzac' day is a public holiday. Why does Martin Luther King get a holiday? The only person who gives a name to a public holiday here is the Queen. President's birthday as a public Holiday? I don't know what they do up in Canada? Great note.

That's rough Griff. My Ford Falcon with a straight six has been costing me dearly recently. That's only got 106,000 miles on the clock.
