Re: Making my own cap & ball wads

What is the advantage of a wad for cap and ball? In my club quite a few members shoot Remington 1858s out to 25m and 50m with good groups. The usual combo is 18grains of black powder, then a little semolina to about 3mm from the top of the chamber. Then a good dose vasoline on top of that. Maybe the...

Re: Availability of TrailBoss (and other ADI powders)

When was the last time a ship carrying powder exploded spontaneously or by accident and apart from an act of war? I am not trying to suggest that this sort of thing never happens but I am genuinely ignorant of how often it does actually happen. Perhaps it is a real concern. :?

Re: Need a Primer on Rugby?

The blood aspect of the sport is a function of the brutality of the game. While I am tempted to post examples they are rather look quite gruesome. I understand the brutality of American football in the 1900s just about had the game banned with 148 deaths in one year. Doug Flutie kicked the last drop...

Got up at 4.50am to watch a thriller of a game. We have one Australian at work. Best to say nothing. If you watched the game it was pretty intense through out. Overall we were pleased with the result. Dan Carter kicked an amazing drop goal. Can you do this in American football? do you have penalty k...

Re: Need a Primer on Rugby?

Watched the video. No doubt American Footballer forwards (?) pack more hitting power than your average rugby forward. But it depends who is hitting you. I was amused to see in the video one rugby player tackling another whereas the American Football player had to tackle a dummy. How many American Fo...

Re: Any electronics geeks here?

You need a DC to DC converter Rated at least 1 AMP If you hooked it up to a car battery it would draw what it draws and the dc to dc converter would also use up some current, probably as heat. However the battery charger will have a very rough voltage. It could benefit from putting a high value capa...

Here cyclists are treated the same. My brother got a ticket for running a red light on his cycle! Yes you do need to stick to speed limits too. You can get a ticket for cycling faster than 50km/hr in a 50km/hr zone. Also you can get fined for not having a helmet. I heard of an English aristocrat who...
