I just read an interesting article in "True West" magazine about the rock star, Phil Collins and his amazing Alamo collection. He is donating the whole collection to the Alamo. Worth $15 Million! And he will help build a new museum at the Alamo to house it. He has Jim Bowie's knife, Dave C...

a SMOK'N deal 22RF Colt Lightning in what appears to be great condition for $599! I'm a big fan of the pump action Colt Lightning. I have a repro in 45LC and an original in 38-40. I've always wanted a 22RF, just don't have the coinage right not for yet another rifle...... http://www.gunsamerica.com/...

I just read that the real Jeremiah Johnsons body was removed from his grave and reburied in Wyoming(?) with lots of pomp and circumstance and Robert Redford was a pallbearer.

Had a fellow show up at the range once when I was the RO. Just started reloading and wanted to try out some rounds he's loaded. I've shot benchrest rifle for years. Don't believe I've ever seen anybody weighto charge. All done with Culver type measures by volume. Counting clicks. Dump the powder from the powder measurer into the scale pan and weigh it in grains and adjust the amount of powder as necessary to get a true 20 grains of BP. I actually dialed it right in at 20.2 grains. Are you weighing 40g rather than 40g volume? Interesting. Did you compare 40g weight to 40g vo...

Re: More Fun With My 1873 Rehab project
Ejection wouldn't be an issue. The chamber length on these 1873 rifles is very proud. Lots of length. When the 38-40 is set up for a revolver and the 180g bullet crimped in the crimp groove, the OAL is easily short for the chamber. I agree....I sometimes get involved in these projects just to have a...

Hi Pete!
No, the 38-55 case is a great black powder round as it is relatively thin walled and seals the chamber very well. There was zero fouling in the chamber after 30 rounds fired.
I swab with one wet and one dry patch between each shot.
