I also think it varies by barrel but I try to keep copper fouling to a minimum. That said I don't use harsh solvents to remove it. I mostly use Hoppes 9 or rarely Hoppes BR. I try to not let it build up too much before removal. Most barrels are not a problem but like Sixgun I have M1A's I shoot a lo...

An excellent choice. A pair of light and reliable guns chambered in a compact and powerful cartridge. Weight and balance is paramount when snowshoeing. From a rifle a 44mag is very impressive. One of my favorite combo cartridges.

Great score by the way.

Still in style round these parts. Not the plaid pants so much but i know a couple that still wear em. Many here, myself included, wear Johnson red or green and black checked jackets. These are the small checks and the jacket is unlined. You wear an underlayer as the temperature dictates. For pants i...

Mainehunter, You got a good one! I've always liked the 64 because my grandfather carried one as a warden in the late 30's to early 40's. I started on straight-grips so they feel more natural. That's why i bought the rifle on the left. An 1899 vintage rifle returned to the factory for a 64 front end ...

Good score! KTP is about 2hrs south of me. You can sometimes hit it good there for old levers. Always kinda wanted a 93 as I have an 89 and 81. I think the most effective the 556 has ever been has been with a 55gr bullet out of a 20" barrel. All the changes since may have made it more accurate and better able to penetrate barriers but has made it slower and lessened it's wound capabilities. How it originally behaved is what the soviets...

I think the biggest problem with 30 carbine is that it has always been judged against cartridges out of its class. In my opinion the M-1 carbine is a vicious (buzz word of the times) personal defense weapon. It way outperforms 9mm out of a carbine or smg and the super short barrel 223's are awful fo...
