I have a model 1 1/2 in .32-20. I've only shot it enough to know it goes Bang but I think it's pretty cool. Naw, the .218 is the .22 CF .300 Savage. Excellent and underappreciated. I think the .22 Hornet is the .30-30 because, among other things, it has virtually the same trajectory. So, when you're beat down by the recoil of the .30-30  , you can shoot the .22 H. And when you're tired of the recoil...

The point of a full stock is to make it easier to use the rifle for a walking stick in the hills, like the wooded lower portion of the Alps, or the Ozarks or the Appalachians. Yes. Why not? I hunt small game with a 39a with a 25" bbl, and like it better than the shorter rifles for the accuracy. This rifle is 8 oz heavier than the 20" 94-22 I no longer have, and the whole 8 oz is hanging on the end of the barrel. Much, much steadier for aiming at small targets. M...

Either gun would blow a hole clear through a deer if shot broadside. The rifle would do it end to end or diagonal as well. In either case, you could eat right up to the hole because the terminal velocity would be slower than that needed to blood shoot the meat. The cutoff is 2500 fps. If the bullet ...

Pitchy, birdshot works better than buckshot for shooting indoors. One reason the .30-30 works so well is, it is too slow to create that shock wave through the tissue and blow your meat to blood burger. According to Boothroyd and some others, the shock wave effect happens when the bullet arrives at 2500 fps or more. So, you can shoot a deer in the shoulder with a ....
