I said a couple months ago that I was not hunting this year.....So, I'm taking off the next four days for late buck season. I hope you'll forgive me. :D

I said the same thing, then 86er made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

Never say never, I guess.

Hunt safe, and bring back some photos.

T'wasn't a lie, it was a mispeak. Luck on your hunt. Oh, and you must have smallish pigs up there, the 1911 is a bit light for those down my way. Still waiting for a chance to use my .45 colt Blackhawk on one. If I can just get those youngsters of mine to take a day or five off, we might be able to do it early next year.

I take it you had the same rain, sleet, snow, wind and downpour that we had north of you  A true Pacific NorthWet November. We were out west of RainBow Falls State Park and behind the little town of Doty on MacDonald Tree Farm...

Boy, does that place bring back memories

I logged out there on about a 3 year job back behind Dody. I mostly remember the prickly spruce we had to limb and I especially remember bringing in a Turn behind a 450 TimberJack skidder. The vine maple were so thick they made actual walls about 15' tall and hundred of yards long. I got tired one friday afternoon of going all the way around one of the walls and decided I would run this 30 ton skidder with the Turn on behind it right over the wall of vineys and be done with the extra time being wasted. Unfortunately vine maple are a bit more resiliant than I suspected and just as I was bending the wall over nicely thinking I was going to be able to tear it out, the entire vine maple wall sprung back up (yes, with me, the skidder and a full Turn of logs) and tipped me over. Unbelievable.

Turns out that it was payday Friday and the Boss (fortunately my FIL) had just pulled in to the landing in time to see me roll the TimberJack over. Lets just say he wasn't happy. And I learned a big lesson about vine maple

And I learned a big lesson about vine maple
That stuff is like walking thru quicksand.....I surveyed for a few years after retireing from military, and brushing line through vine maple was like a life sentence in SingSing.

Don't feel bad about tellin' a lie. Guilt is a man made emotion. I lie all the time. Only fools and children tell the truth. The way I figure it, if corporations, the government, and my in-laws lie to me, I can lie right back. Hey, its the "new" American way.---notice there's no smile face?-----------------Sixgun

There is an old saying that goes, "it is never a sin to tell a lie to a man that has no need to know the truth"!
“Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.”
