Here's a shot at answering the question about Matt's horse Buck, I believe he was a 1/4 horse buckskin gelding, I think all in all they used 3 over the year's?

Check with all the good people at Marlinowners.com from the look's of the pics the one gentleman posted they appear to be what Marlin labled as the " Texan model" ? Someone their can tell you for sure.
